Members of 1st Waterlooville GB group took part in an evening of mud, paint and bubbles as they ran the Rowans Hospice UV FoamBlast event on Saturday 9 March.
The event was one of the Silver Jubilee Appeal events that Rowans Hospice are running throughout 2019, with the goal of raising £7.5 million for the renovation of the hospice in its 25th anniversary year.
The group of 11 from 1st Waterlooville raised a huge amount towards the cause, sponsored for negotiating lasers, glowing foam, UV paint, blacklights and an epic inflatable slide. The group then retreated back to church for a well-deserved supper and sleepover before their church parade on Sunday.
Team Leader Sian Evans says 'The event was a 1.5 mile obstacle course with UV paint attacks and foam-filled tunnels up and down the hill at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, finishing with an 8 foot inflatable slide. Very steep and very muddy! I think we've raised just short of £1,000 between the 11 of us.'
Girls’ Brigade Ministries recently hosted the first ever Build Hope breakfast for local church leaders in the Fisherman’s Chapel in Leigh-on-Sea, Southend.
