Girls’ Brigade Ministries (GBM) is recruiting for a unique and exciting role – Director.
The Director will be based at Cliff College, in Derbyshire, will need to be able to travel and to work occasional weekends and evenings. This is a two-year, full-time position.
GBM is home to four key initiatives that specialise in enabling this generation of (primarily) girls and women to openly explore and engage with real life and Christian faith in a fun, informative and hopeful way. They are:
• The Girls’ Brigade England & Wales
• The Esther Collective
• UK Girl.
This role will oversee the strategic direction of GB Ministries, in partnership with the GBM Board. Key priorities for the role in this period are the ensuring of financial stability, the development of new funding streams, and the delivery of agreed activity toward our 2016-2026 strategic objectives. The role also incorporates company secretary responsibilities (see the application pack for further details of the strategic plan, and general information about GB).
The Director will also oversee the #WeAreGB125 initiative to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Girls’ Brigade in England & Wales. This initiative is intended as a catalyst for significant growth in the church’s connection with girls and young women of this generation, working through mission partnerships to contribute to the HOPE Together 2018 vision to see the church in the UK grow by 10%.
The post holder is responsible to the GBM Trustee Board chairman and accountable to the board. The ideal candidate will believe in, and be passionate about, the mission and values of Girls’ Brigade Ministries, which is a Christian faith-based organisation for girls and young women (primarily).
The salary will be between £40-42K, depending on experience.

Interviews will be held on 13 May 2017 at Cliff College. The interview will be conducted by a small panel, and the shortlisted candidates will be expected to give a presentation on the day to key stakeholders, as well as the interview panel (title will be sent out in advance). They will also have an opportunity to meet with key stakeholders in GB’s ministry.
