Be a light

11 Apr 2013

A new Scaffold prayer bookmark will be uploaded each month for you to print, if you wish - see below to download April's.

The bookmarks are perfect for keeping in your Bible/on your noticeboard/fridge door etc. But don't worry if you're already a current Scaffold subscriber, you'll still be sent a copy in the post/email.

This month's bookmark is based around Matthew Ch.5:14-16 (NIV). 'You are the light that gives light to the world. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hidden. And people don’t hide a light under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand so the light shines for all the people in the house. In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven.’

Let’s pray together…

  • Give thanks for those people whose lives have revealed God’s love for us through the way in which they’ve lived.
  • Pray that as we engage with the 2013 Great Big Challenge, through things such as collective worship, holiday clubs and outreach events, we’ll really grasp the opportunity to demonstrate the difference Jesus makes.
  • Reflect upon the challenges, needs and darkness in our communities; may God show us how we can make known the hope He brings in these circumstances, as we seek to join in with His mission of restoration – being relational, relevant and responsive.
  • Pray that as we look to connect with 120,000 children and young people throughout the year, that we may be open to new and creative ways of doing this; trusting in God’s provision, wisdom and strength.
