Building Hope through GB's summer conference

6 Jul 2019

Around 80 GB leaders attended our summer conference today in Derbyshire for a day of equipping and inspiration.

The event, at Cliff College, included the latest GB news, as well as sessions on GB's identity and intergenerational leadership.

One delegate says 'The whole afternoon was so powerful and I'm leaving with a real sense of affirmation in what I do and my worth.'

Another says 'I'm feeling very inspired - thank you!'

The leaders also heard news and views from around the GB family including:

  • A Build Hope update
  • Details of a FIZZ mission trip this summer being attended by 8 members of GB England & Wales
  • Updates on GB's finances, website, and database
  • The launch of a new range of products for GB Trading
  • And much, much more.

Rev Dennis Pethers led the session on GB's identity, which culminated in the delegates sticking pieces of a jigsaw to a HOPE sign to show we all have a part to play.

The intergenerational leadership session was led by GB's Discipleship & Evangelism Enabler Charlotte Hendy. Looking at the Bible story of Ruth and Naomi, the conference delegates learnt that no matter what your age you can encounter God and lead other people to encounter God too.

GB’s Director Jules Murdy says 'It's been a really encouraging day hearing from a range of speakers and it's so good to know people are leaving feeling encouraged and inspired.'
