Inspiring, encouraging and transforming

16 Apr 2018

19 young women from GB England & Wales travelled to Ireland for the first-ever GB Europe Gathering celebrating GB's 125th birthday.

In total, 80 16-22 year olds from around GB Europe gathered for fun, faith and friendship from 4 until 8 April.

One of them, Chloé Twist, 18, from 26th Liverpool, who is Assistant Conference Manager at Cliff College, shares more about her experience at The Europe Gathering GB125.

She writes 'Inspiring, encouraging, transforming... just some of the words you could use to describe the GB Europe Gathering.

'Spending a week in Ireland with my international GB family has been one of my highlights of being in GB. Before the week I didn’t know what to expect but, one thing was for sure, I certainly didn’t expect it to be so inspiring and transforming.
'Each day we had various activities, ranging from our Wakey Wakey Worship, to team challenges, and GB raises hope sessions to workshops. These activities touched me in various ways, especially evening worship as we had a different theme of the day, with a linking Bible verse to the topic.
'I truly feel part of my GB international family, and I’ve made some friends for life. I hope that GB continues to have events like this so that future generations can experience what I did - you just can’t give it justice by describing it! I really do feel as though we were all chosen to spend this time together.'

As it gives us an insight about how girls feel about a range of issues, emerging pressures and what they need to support their happiness, wellbeing and opportunities in life, it’s important that we listen to their voices.
