Children and the Arise volunteers at Leading Edge enjoyed worship, circus skills, games and discovering more about Jesus at the week-long event organised by the Baptist Union.
All the children’s work at the event in Warwick was led by Arise, part of the GB Ministries family. Many GB leaders volunteered to work with the children and had lots of fun, laughter and shaving foam pies as a way of saying thank you!
Zoe, a young leader at 1st Uxbridge GB volunteered for the second time at Leading Edge. She says 'It makes a change from what I usually do and it's nice to spend time sharing what I have with the children as I'm a big child myself!'
Wendy, from 12th Bristol GB, is also an experienced Arise volunteer and likes to see how the children have developed between seeing them at Baptist Assembly and at Leading Edge. 'Volunteering is good for me spiritually as I get to meet with other Christians my age too,' she says.
GB needs leaders and young leaders to join the Arise team at Baptist Assembly in Blackpool in May 2011.
It's a great opportunity to work with under 11s, use the skills you use in GB and get new ideas of how to run a children's programme. To be part of the Baptist Assembly children's team, contact Ed Jones.
