There are a number of programme resources on the issue of mental health available for GB leaders to use - helping them turn up the volume of hope with the children and young people they work with.
As it’s Mental Health Awareness Week 2017, why not check out the following and equip yourself on this important topic?
- GB Europe’s updated 2017 edition of its Working with Young People with Additional Needs resource contains a section on mental health - and it's free for you to download.
- Lots of the GB programme booklets touch on topics surrounding mental health including:
n:vestigate – Our Feelings

- GB’s Volumise sessions held at our national conference days also provide tools for you to use with young people or fellow leaders. Topics covered so far include mental health, loss, and self-harm. You can access these resources by logging into the GB leaders’ resource base and then find them in the Activities > Volumise section. Please shout if you haven't yet used the GB leaders' resource base and need help - or check out our handy how to information.
- koko is an online place for teenage girls, and a great free resource for youth leaders. Films, blogs, insights and support about living life to the full – enabling girls to ‘keep on keeping on’ in a hope-filled way. Film topics include mental health, self-harm, friendship, and much more.
