Spring conference: Refresh

15 Jan 2019

All GB leaders are invited to GB's spring conference - which will include a choice of training sessions.

The conference is for all GB's children and youth leaders and will take place on Saturday 2 March 2019 at All Nations Church, Brickhill Drive, Bedford.

As a GB leader it’s great to be fully equipped/trained for activities we may do with our young people, or to be trained so that we can share our knowledge within our local area. Come along with a group of leaders from your GB group, each choose a different training session and then go home full of new information and knowledge to use in your GB group.

Leaders will also enjoy fellowship, worship, get to hear encouraging news, be equipped to take what they hear back home and much, much more.

The day's programme, downloadable below, will be as follows:

9.45am Arrivals
Start your day with tea/coffee, a biscuit and time to chat and shop.

10.30am Choose your session

Life to the Full
Outgoing GB International President Vivienne Aitchison will be guiding leaders through the updated Life to the Full policies and safeguarding document. This is compulsory training for GB leaders and gets updated every five years.

Residential indoor & outdoor (Initial – full day or refresher – morning)
If you want to take your GB group away on a residential, GB policy states that you must complete residential training every five years. You need one leader with residential training per 30 girls. Join an experienced trainer who will take you through the residential handbook giving you hints and tips along the way.

n:fluence 18+ (full day)
Join Claire Woodward, one of our GB Trading Trustees and experienced trainer, as she goes through the various elements of the n:fluence 18+ resource to enable you to be registered as a GB leader. Great for helpers wishing to progress in their role, Advanced Young Leaders who’ve turned 18 and are ready to become leaders, people who are new to GB, or current GB leaders who feel a refresher would benefit them. n:fluence 18+ induction packs are available to pre-order for £17.50 – these are recommended for all new GB leaders. Order yours now (on the conference registration forms) to collect on the day.

Leading worship
Join Worship Leader Luke Hamlyn to learn how to lead worship and devotional times in ways which don’t involve picking up an instrument. You’ll learn to be creative and to engage young people in worship.

District/regional team leaders (or those in a district/regional role)
Join Vikki Loveday, GB’s Volunteer Manager, as she takes you through how to build and sustain a healthy team. This session will also include an open forum for you to share ideas about how we can support you in your leadership role.

12.30pm Lunch
Bring a sarnie, spend some cash at the GB shop, make some new friends, visit our prayer space and relax.
