GB Team Leader Amy Bates says ‘We’re keen to guide our girls of all ages as they grow in their faith journey and by having Bibles with the GB crest on the front and a special GB prayer on the back page we hope it will remind them how special they are and how GB has enriched their lives. Each girl will use their New Testament differently but each girl received it with a huge smile and grace.’
GB Leader Jan Underwood says ‘The Gideon Bible contains passages and psalms that can guide and help our girls through many different situations that they may come across during their journey into adulthood. As GB leaders we’ll encourage them to use the scriptures as a road-map that they can depend on and use to constantly renew and deepen their own relationship with God.’
GB leader Jayne McLaren adds ‘In GB our mission is to encourage the girls to grow in all areas of life. We take them to places, do lots of different activities and teach them about God. The beautiful Gideons’ Bibles the girls were given made them feel very special and they loved that the books are personalised for GB.’
Girls’ Brigade Ministries recently hosted the first ever Build Hope breakfast for local church leaders in the Fisherman’s Chapel in Leigh-on-Sea, Southend.
